Program Offers Custom Training and Networking Opportunities for Self-Managed Artists, Artists Managers, and Music Companies from Canada
PASSPORT: Music Export Summit is an intensive training program geared at career expansion for artist managers, music companies, and export-ready, self-managed artists in Canada. Taking place in February 2020, PASSPORT will prepare music entrepreneurs with business skills and product development to help bring Canadian music to the world. The new round of parallel sessions in will take place for artist managers in Winnipeg (February 17-22) and for self-managed artists in Halifax (February 24-29), offering music entrepreneurs real-world knowledge in navigating new export markets to foster success in the global music industry. The deadline to submit is Monday, September 23. Guidelines, criteria, and submissions info is available at passportmusic.ca.
"You think you know a lot until someone presents you with information that you didn't even know you needed," says AHI, a 2019 JUNO Award nominee who participated in the inaugural edition in 2018. "The PASSPORT: Music Export Summit was a very necessary pit stop for me as a self-managed independent musician. It helped me to refocus my career and realign my initiatives and put a lot into perspective for me."
