Soul Supreme Launches R&B Festival at Blue Note Park on July 15

Soul Supreme is moving outdoors this month for a one-day festival celebrating R&B music! The event will take over Blue Note Park on July 15 and feature performances from the Soul Supreme Collection including over a dozen local artists and DJs,

The mainstay event can usually be found packing in music fans at Exchange District haunt One Eleven for shows featuring a DJ and live performance. Created in 2014 and programmed by singer/songwriter Keisha Booker, the regular events fill a void in the local scene, which has a lack of opportunities for R&B performers and audiences to connect.

Artists hitting the stage for the inaugural fest include Filipino multi-instrumentalist and loop artist Alex Maher, powerhouse vocalist Ami Cheon, pianist and vocalist Marisolle, Afro-pop/Afro-fusion singer Nú Baby, singer Snackie, versatile artist and singer and songwriter Yvng Chriis, performers Jerilyn and Jimmy Forte, and Booker herself.

They'll be joined by a host of DJs including Dmixx, Llado, Matt Henry, Shemar, Tayne, and Zuki, plus a live visual artist on one stage.

The fest will also feature a vendor market highlighting local businesses and entrepreneurs.

"For a long time, Soul Supreme has been considered more of an underground-style R&B experience -- but it's so much more than that," says Booker. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to translate what we've built onto a bigger stage and collaborate with phenomenal artists from the city. Watching this labour of love manifest into a full-day event, drawing attention to locally-owned businesses and genuinely talented people and shining a bright light on a culture that is essentially new to the community is why we do what we do."

Tickets are on sale now via Eventbrite
