With the advent of social networking, smart phones, and the free distribution of music, the world of marketing has been turned on it's head. This workshop will lead participants through the new realities of music marketing.
Shelley Stein-Sacks is the former head of the Music Entrepreneurship Programme of Telefilm Canada. He is the author of a pioneering report on the state of the Canadian Music Industry, The Canadian Independent Music Industry:An Examination of Distribution and Access, published by the Federal Government in 2006. He currently teaches about the music industry at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University.
