Adam Hanney's no stranger to Manitoba's music scene. While only 22 years old, the singer/songwriter has been building a name for years. And now, joined by new band Co., the wait is finally over his debut album. Named for an exercise in songwriting meant to yield one song every month for a year, 12/12 ended up a three-year labour of love and learning. Hanney & Co. have been turned heads with their indie pop/rock sounds, with nods from CBC Radio 3's Grant Lawrence ("uptempo, triumphant, nerdy indie rock anthems"), a recent video premiere for "Howl" and "Howl Pt. II" on Exclaim!, a spot on this year's Uniter Fiver, and no doubt more to come. 12/12 gets its party on March 3 at The Good Will with a little help from openers Heartbeat City and Paisley. Next up, Hanney & Co. will hit the showcase stage at Toronto's Canadian Music Week in May.
