DESCRIPTION

A successful talent buyer, booking agent, and artist manager speak about marketing and artist development for hip hop artists in Canada. This panel will appeal to all levels or artist, manager, or promoter working in hip-hop or urban music. These veteran speakers will trace the route from the first party to the world stage with advice and techniques to take your career to the next level.

If you are a hip-hop or Urban artist, DJ, programmer, manager, or promoter, you do not want to miss this event.

Chris McKee runs a boutique talent booking agency, representing many of Canada and the United States' top musicians. They put together shows and tours for artists on their roster and for international acts including Rihanna, The Roots, Black Eyed Peas, Obie Trice, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, and Busta Rhymes. Chris has worked with many of Canada's top urban acts including Classified, Choclair, In Essence, Massari, Kardinal, Swollen Members, Shawn Desman, Maestro, Rascalz and many more.

David “Click” Cox has over 15 years experience in the music industry, including over eight years in A&R at Universal where he signed Roz Bell and Jully Black and worked with IRS, Shawn Hewitt, In-Flight Safety, Swollen Members. Currently, David runs a full service management and consulting company, which provides representation to artists, producers, songwriters and DJs. David also helps run the Stylus DJ Awards, Canada's only national DJ festival and awards.

Dalton Higgins is a music programmer, pop culture critic, author, broadcaster and journalist. He is one of Canada's foremost experts on hip hop culture. He is the co-author of two books, hip-hop and Much Master T: A VJ's Journey. As a print journalist, Dalton is a Canadian National Magazine Award recipient, and his articles have appeared in esteemed print and online mediums in the United States (Vibe, the Source, Amazon.com, Urb) and Canada (Saturday Night, Now Magazine, Toronto Star, Quill & Quire and many others). Dalton is currently a music programmer at Harbourfront Centre.
