BreakOut West 2014 Only A Week Away

BreakOut West 2014 is almost here! Over 70 of Western Canada’s finest performers and over 350 music industry leaders and delegates from all over the world are now preparing to make their way to Winnipeg on October 2 – 5 for the 2014 BreakOut West Festival and Conference and the 2014 Western Canadian Music Awards.  

BREAKOUT WEST 2014 KICKOFF PARTY WITH DAN MANGAN
The party starts with multiple Western Canadian Music Award winner Dan Mangan and Vancouver duo PinkBrown kicking off the BreakOut West Music Festival in Winnipeg at an outdoor party at the gorgeous, historic Fort Gibraltar on October 2. The Doors are at 7:15PM with the show at 8PM and the bill also includes Winnipeg pop/folk faves Yes We Mystic, Saskatoon DJ and producer Factor, a poutine stand and more. Tickets are $20, available at the Folk Festival Music Store, Music Trader, and Ticketmaster.

BREAKOUT WEST MUSIC FESTIVAL
The festival features performances by bands and musicians of all genres from across Western Canada. Wristbands are $20 and allow you access to all showcases, in all venues for both nights. Wristbands are on sale now at Folk Festival Music Store and Music Trader in Winnipeg and can also be purchased at any festival venue on October 3 & 4. WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC AWARDS GALA
The Western Canadian Music Awards Gala, happening October 5 at the Club Regent Event Centre, recognizes artists in a number of categories. Hosted by CBC Radio personality Grant Lawrence, the Gala features performances from some of Western Canada’s most popular acts and a couple of local Winnipeg legends. Tickets for the Gala are $40 and can be purchased from ticketmaster.ca

BREAKOUT WEST INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
Taking place at the Fairmont Hotel in Winnipeg, the BreakOut West Conference includes information sessions followed by themed workshops and breakout sessions specifically designed for industry delegates and artists. Some topics will include new music revenue streams, live songwriting sessions, music supervisor round table session, audience and artist development, and festival and showcasing tips. WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS BRUNCH
Hosted by Virgin Radio Winnipeg's own Ace Burpee, the Industry Awards Brunch recognizes industry professionals and the work they do for the music community. Featuring performances by The Sojourners and The Bros. Landreth, and a tribute to the late, great Kevin Walters, WCMA Industry Builder Award recipient. The brunch begins Saturday morning, 10 am at the Fairmont Hotel.

MINI BREAKOUT WEST
Before the party gets started on Sunday, October 5, the Manitoba Children’s Museum will host the kid’s festival showcase, Mini BreakOut West. The event is complimentary with your admission to the Children's Museum and features performances by:
