Like many teenagers who have a dream of one day getting up on stage and playing their music, Tom and Jason Petric have always had a fire burning inside to entertain audiences and push themselves to newer and greater levels. So it only makes sense that these brothers from Transcona, Manitoba have come together to form the band PETRIC and are electrifying clubs and venues all across Canada.
At age 13 Jason commandeered his grandmother's basement, set up a drum-kit and a few amps, and began a journey of a life time. The eldest of the two ventured on his own for a few years, releasing two solo albums and touring as a back-up guitarist for many Manitoba acts. While younger brother Tom, who was always some part of whatever show or project his older brother had going on, basically grew up on stage. His smooth, powerful vocals, has captured audiences from the first time he ever opened his mouth to sing. Their naturally sibling harmony, and party-rocking vibe, makes is easy to see why Petric is making an impact on the country music scene.
Cutting their chops the past few years, playing hundreds of shows, landing opening slots for Doc Walker and Gord Bamford as well as JUNOFEST and CCMA showcases, the boys have come along way from where they started. All while their skills as songwriters and recording artists have been turning just as many heads.
Travelling to Nashville to write songs and network, Petric impressed several of Nashville's top hit songwriters. With a handful of well written songs fitting for today's country market, Petric gained the attention of Juno award winning country star and multi-platinum selling artist Dallas Smith, and CCMA award nominated producer Scott Cooke, at the 2014 CCMA's. This led to Dallas Smith inviting Petric on the Western leg of his Canadian Tippin' Point Tour.
In the spring of 2015, Petric was announced as the first act signed to Dallas Smith's newly formed label SteelHead Music Inc, with partners Scott Cooke and Alex Seif. On May 26th Petric released their first single "Here Goes Everything" to Canadian country radio. With the single climbing the radio charts, the boys are watching their fan base explode as they go from local phenonenon to national buzz band.
While continuing to perform and busy visiting radio stations across Canada, Petric is currently in the studio working with Dallas Smith and producer Scott Cooke on their debut album set for release in the fall of 2015.
