Description
"With two Juno nominations and six solo albums to his credit, Danny Michel is one of the finest and most charming songwriters to grace the stage. His honest and straight-forward lyrics, earnest live performances and witty stage banter have earned him a devoted global fan base. If you’ve seen Danny live in concert, you’re probably already a fan. If you haven’t, you are missing out on one of this country’s undiscovered musical treasures.” (Toronto Star).
When armed with a band, Danny can blow the roof off any venue, but it’s his solo performances that get his fans really excited. His previous album “Live in Winnipeg” was recorded at the West End and is now available for purchase. It captures Danny in his element – with the wild unpredictability of his one-man live show. Like a chameleon, he slips into any genre with ease, playing off the energy of the crowd.
On July 1, he releases his newest album "Sunset Sea". Recorded with American Grammy-nominated producer Mark Stockert, this album was created and recorded in Belize, Costa Rica, Holland, Canada & the U.S. Danny has built excitement and anticipation about his new album with a behind-the-scenes look into the making of his record. He even challenged his fans from around the world to submit their own tracks for the album. As a result, a few of his parts were replaced by what he considered better ones from his fans – including an entire chorus on one track! The album also features collaborations with Sarah Harmer and other notable guests.
When Danny's not on the road or recording his own music, he shares his production skills and studio with other talent and is quickly becoming a sought after producer with several albums under his belt. Don’t miss your chance to see this dynamic performer.

| Sep 17 | Inward Eye Cash Grab The Bokononists at West End Cultural Centre | West End Cultural Centre
Description
The Erickson brothers have lived and breathed rock & roll since a very early age. This trio of brothers, Dave (vocals/bass), Kyle (guitar/vocals), and Anders (drums), soon became Inward Eye and they now reminisce about their musical beginnings when they would "dance around in our underwear to the Rolling Stones' Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!”, reveals the eldest band-mate Dave.
These early musical experiences would come to heavily influence the high-voltage, rebellious rock of their debut self-titled EP. Hailing from Winnipeg, the siblings began making music together in 1997, but it wasn't until 2003 that they started earning a reputation for themselves on the Canadian music scene. After amassing a strong local following - without ever recording a note in a studio - major labels came knocking. In the summer of 2005 the band spent a week in New York City showing off their live skills and managed to impressed producers from J Records. Inward Eye quit their grocery store jobs back home and began the exciting (and sometimes arduous) process of writing songs for their first real recording. They have since earned comparison to a number of potent high-energy rock bands including; the Clash, the Jam, and the Who. Inward Eye was honoured with the opportunity to open for the Who during a 2006 cross-Canada tour.
Inward Eye most recently performed at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and in April represented Canada in Hong Kong, at the Asia Pacific Music Forum, as part of the Canadian Mission to Music Matters. Their latest full-length album, Throwing Bricks Instead of Kisses was released in the fall of 2009 and this trio of brothers gathers an ever-increasing fan base everywhere they play. Performing on the Warped Tour and Lollapalooza festival, Inward Eye brings back spontaneity to rock shows. Their music is stocked with powerful anthems that crackle with bratty energy and recall the swinging riffs, shouted chants, and raw-nerve rock of their favorite bands.

| Sep 24 | Jesse DeNatale Scott Nolan at West End Cultural Centre | West End Cultural Centre
Description
“Now it seems that all the best ones have been driven underground. If there is a leak in the boiler room, it is the music of Jesse DeNatale, a unique and original American voice." - Tom Waits
Part poet, part storyteller, celebrated American singer-songwriter; Jesse DeNatale currently resides in Northern California. DeNatale has released two critically acclaimed albums, Shangri-La West and Soul Parade! and is currently touring with his most recent album Hallelujah Rain, which was released over the winter of 2010. Along with the EP Dreamer's Holiday, he has appeared on various compilations and tributes. DeNatale has toured both nationally and internationally performing in festivals, clubs and theaters. Along the way he has met many artists both musical and otherwise who greatly inspire him. "Composers and songwriters from the past and certainly my friends and peers right now inspire me. Call it a past and modern melting pot of influence, a new and old source of inspiration. It pushes a button inside me that tells me what it is to be human, which leads to a bell ringing or a signal that forces a desire to create something equally great which is a great thing in itself. "
The creative relationship between mythology and everyday life is pivotal to Jesse's songwriting.
He learned guitar from listening to Ramblin' Jack Elliott records. Years later, Elliott would take him under his wing and encourage him to open his shows. It is his way with words, as well as their marriage to simple, tuneful and mysteriously soulful melodies that has kept the diehard fans, including Tom Waits, novelist Michael Ondaatje ("The English Patient") and former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins in DeNatale's corner.
Joining DeNatale for this show is Winnipeg’s own Scott Nolan, a producer, performer, award winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Known for his original brand of country, bluesy, rock n’ roll, Nolan is set to release his new album Montgomery Eldorado in 2011, featuring a guest appearance by The Legendary Holmes Brothers.
