KNG JMZ is an Afro-Indigenous hip-hop artist, songwriter, and producer from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Drawing from his First Nations (Sagkeeng) and Caribbean (Guyanese) roots, KNG JMZ blends his Afro-Indigenous experience with contemporary hip-hop and trap music to create a unique and powerful sound. His music is deeply rooted in themes of empowerment, resilience, and self-worth, aiming to inspire listeners to overcome personal struggles and embrace their true selves.
His work has gained international recognition, with radio placements on CBC’s The Block, Frog Radio’s INDIGINOMICS, and Tunes From Turtle Island, among others. In 2024, KNG JMZ was nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Indigenous Hip Hop Awards. Known for his motivational lyricism, his music acts as a personal mantra, offering healing and growth to both himself and his audience.
