ABOUT THE HOST
Onna Lou is a singer-songwriter born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her music fuses Latin pop-rock with Argentine Folk, jazz, Latin American rhythms, tango and even flamenco. Her lyrics make a deep impact on the listener since she strikes the depth of human nature with her sharp-sighted views and her subtle but powerful poetry. The honesty of her melodies is a result of her argentine roots and together with her beautiful and sensitive way of looking at life they make her music truly unique.

In the last few years she has studied and worked with the multiple Latin Grammy winner producer and songwriter Javier Limon. During that time she produced a music video with Berklee College students for the also multi Latin Grammy winner Alejandro Sanz. This experience gave her the opportunity to participate in the 2013 Latin Grammy Awards performing with the artist. More recently she met internationally acclaimed Spanish singer songwriter Rosana and performed as a guest at her New York show during her USA tour 2015.

She has been performing as Onna Lou since 2011. Performing in Argentina and the United States, organizing individual and group performances together with amazing artists.

She majored in Classical Composition at Universidad Catolica Argetina in Buenos Aires. In 2012 she moved to Boston and majored with honors in Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music.

“Ahora” (Now) is her first album. it is warm and intimate with a mainly acoustic sound.

She has been performing extensively since she moved to Winnipeg in 2016. From private events at places like Winter Club, festivals like Winnipeg Jazz Festival, Folklorama, Fringe Theatre Festival, concert halls like CCFM’s Pauline Boutal hall, house concerts, to weekly performances at Winnipeg’s best restaurants (Hermanos, Mona Lisa, McNally Robinson, Stella’s au CCFM among others), she has become an active part of Winnipeg’s rich music scene.

In her short time in Winnipeg, Lou has received the support of the Winnipeg Arts Council and the Manitoba Arts Council on several occasions.

She will be performing with a full band this October 7th 2018 at The Park Theatre in a double bill night with artist Marco Castillo. This show called "Thanksgiving from the South" will be filmed and recorded live, and has received the support of the Manitoba Arts Council for its realization.

In August she will release her new single "Dejame que me marche sin ti" along with the music video which was shot in Argentina and Winnipeg.

She is currently working in the production of her next album to be released next year.
