Doug McArthur Marks 10 Years of Sobriety with Draw the Line Remix by Lana Winterhalt

On June 1st, 2014, winnipeg singer-songwriter Doug McArthur began a new life without alcohol. The story of how he arrived at the decision to quit drinking is documented in his latest single, Draw the Line, which was released in August of 2023. To mark the ten-year anniversary of sobriety, McArthur tapped local producer, artist and community organizer Lana Winterhalt on a remix of Draw the Line. 

Winterhalt's Draw the Line remix takes McArthur's powerful vocals and places them in a new sonic landscape, eschewing traditional rock instrumentation for groovy basslines and synths, punctuated by electronic percussion and a propulsive arrangement. The story remains the same, but the feeling that underlies the Draw the Line remix is celebratory and bright, in contrast to the emotional and dramatic dynamics of the orignal Rusty Robot-produced track. 

The song is available now exclusively on Bandcamp, as part of McArthur's Draw the Line EP. The EP will see a wide release on major streaming platforms on June 1st. McArthur will be celebrating the release with a live performance at Rendezvous Brew and Taphouse in Morden, MB the same day.
