LUANA MOTH presents immersive art installation webpage and two associated shows
By LUANA MOTH
Winnipeg psych siblings LUANA MOTH roll out immersive website www.luanamoth.com, as well as two shows at Public Domain to end the year. The centrepiece of the website being a video game that extends itself into the real world. Guitarist/producer Tony Mazza describes the game as a sort of pre-requisite learning material to help better understand the story of Luana Moth.
Tony was hesitant to divulge much else on the game, but he did share that the game will also have a direct link to the live shows for a few players “depending on how, and when they play the game, and the level of interactivity they chose to partake”. When asked to elaborate on the game, and how it ties into the shows Tony maintains “I don’t want to spoil it for the few who care to go that far. It will be more fun for them to find that connection themselves”.
The website was a collaborative effort between the band, and local web developer/graphic artist George Dyck, also known as VOID RASTER as well as bass player in Winnipeg tech-nu-metal outfit MOYAMOYA.
Tony clarifies - “George is almost entirely responsible for the website and the game. It’s our ideas, but I am no developer, nor graphic artist. George did all the heavy lifting and execution. I know for a fact we wouldn’t have a website at all for quite some time, if it weren’t for him and his help”. Tony describes the website as an inevitable byproduct of his friendship with George, and their shared fascination with the early 2000’s internet experience.
The aforementioned LUANA MOTH shows are set for November 28th with KolaKolaPop, and KIARA, and December 13th with Carlo Capobianco, and Dray. Both at Public Domain.
The band will be “debuting new experiments” at each show and also mention that “2026 will bring a lot of exciting things that are in development”
