Bachman's Back

Posted on

Winnipeg-born and raised rock legend Randy Bachman returns to his hometown for a performance at the Centennial Concert Hall on October 17.

The guitarist, songwriter, performer and producer and member of such bands as the Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive has earned over 120 Gold and Platinum album/singles awards around the world for performing and producing. His songwriting has garnered him the coveted #1 spot on radio play lists in over 20 countries and he has amassed over 40 million records sold. Bachmans music has provided a veritable soundtrack of the last thirty years of popular music.

Known best for his rock pedigree, Bachman will be doing a jazz festival tour in the summer of 2004 and recently recorded Jazzthing, featuring his own guitar and vocals added to tracks by Bachmans late mentor and jazz great, Lenny Breau. BTO will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the 2004 Juno Awards. The Guess Who was honoured with the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards in November of last year.

Bachmans Every Song Tells A Story concert will offer audiences a unique insight in the stories behind some of the Bachman-penned Guess Who and BTOs chart-topping tunes. Bachman will share his inspiration and experiences as well as offer up some of his much-beloved music.

This is Bachmans first solo show in Winnipeg since his concert at the old Horseshoe Cabaret in 1998.

Rootsy singer/songwriter darling Alana Levandoski will take the opening slot.
