Oh my! It's Oh My Darling (yes, we know, that's not the most clever blog entry title)

Oh My Darling is a relatively new group on the Winnipeg roots scene. They are a quartet of young women creating quite a buzz here in town.

They play a combination of originals and traditional tunes - you know, those traditional pieces that go so far back,  no one really knows who came up with it in the first place. No matter if it's an old or new tune, there's always an emphasis on bluegrass and the rootsy Americana style - or "Canadiana" if that's how you want to run with it.

This Saturday, you'll hear their first CBC recording, which took place at the West End Cultural Centre. Their concert was a benefit for Run for Rights - a foot race that raises funds for social justice and human rights.

Also airing this weekend, another fundraising concert out of the Park Theatre this time. Winnipeg veterans Nathan played at the Canadian Physicians Aid and Relief fundraiser for Tanzania's Rainwater Harvesting Project!
