Meet the MusicWorks Panelists: Michael Perlmutter and Chris Budd

This feature gives you an inside look at our upcoming MusicWorks panelists. In this installment, we meet Michael Perlmutter and Chris Budd, who will be on hand for our 'Creative Licensing: Capitalizing on Sync Placements' workshop on Saturday, November 3.

Chris Budd, President, Bearsuit Publishing (Grey's Anatomy, Adidas, West 49, Rogers)

Chris Budd formed Bearsuit Publishing, a publishing and song pitching company partnered with Aporia and Endearing Records, in Vancouver in 2007. Budd creates licensing opportunities for his artists in television, film, advertising, and video games. He is also the owner/editor for the Toronto music blog, Indie Music Filter. Since its creation in January 2006, the site has built up a reputation as a trusted source for new music, focusing on song and video premieres and custom mixtapes and playlists.

Michael Perlmutter, Music Supervisor, Instinct Entertainment (Arbitrage, Beauty and The Beast, CTV Olympic Games, The LA Complex, Degrassi)

Michael Perlmutter spends his days and nights watching films and TV, listening to music, reading scripts, negotiating, and moshing. His previous work included stints in advertising (U2 “Pop Tour”), music publishing (EMI Music Publishing Canada), artist management, and as director of music supervision at SL Feldman & Associates. He now owns and operates Instinct Entertainment.

About Workshop
