Cat Jahnke Lands Songwriting Honours

Winnipeg-based singer/songwriter Cat Janhke has taken high honours in this year's massive International Songwriting Competition. Her song "Do What You Say", recorded for her project Cat and the Menagerie, has landed in second place in the ISC's dance/electronica category.

Jahnke isn't the only Manitoba name on ISC's list. Scott Nolan's "Swing Low" got an honourable mention in the Americana category, as was Jaylene Johnson's co-write with Taylor Watson and James Andrew Tooke is a finalist in the country category for the Watson-performed song "Mine".

ISC is open to amateur and professional songwriters from all over the world, including bands and solo performers. Winners are selected by a panel of high-profile recording artists and music industry executives, including big names like Tom Waits, Imagine Dragons, Black Francis, Selena Gomez, plus industry big wigs like Capital/Virgin president Dan McCarroll, Columbia Records UK co-president Alison Donald, producer Steve Lillywhite, and many more.
