It's time to start laying out the blueprint for summer... the Winnipeg Folk Festival has officially announced its lineup for this year.

The 45th annual festival, which will take over Birds Hill Park July 5-8, will offer audiences four nights and three days of musical discovery, including a stellar line-up of celebrated Manitoba talent.

The list of homegrown music acts hitting festival stages features indie pop act Boniface, soul pop outfit Lanikai, singer/songwriter and MC Leonard Sumner, folk rocker Micah Erenberg, and sibling folk duo Roger Roger. Children's performers gracing the Chickadee Bigtop include music legend Al Simmons and husband and wife duo LuLu and the TomCat.

Touring acts heading to this year's festival include marquee names like Sheryl Crow, The Strumbellas, Passenger, Courtney Barnett, Bahamas, Natalie MacMaster, A Tribe Called Red, and many more. Click to see the full lineup

You'll have to wait for the full schedule to be released before you can plan out what you're going to see, but there's sure to be plenty of chances to see local talent throughout the weekend, including the popular Manitoba artists workshop that has wowed audiences every year.

Tickets are on sale now through Front Gate Tickets and at the Winnipeg Folk Festival office.
