Local Artists Taking the Manitoba Twang to Hamilton for Country Music Week

Country music fans are going to get a taste Manitoba when Hamilton hosts this year's Country Music Week. The annual celebration includes a number of free and ticketed events, and industry conference, amd of course the popular Canadian Country Music Awards.

The Manitoba Country Music Association has teamed up with its Saskatchewan counterpart for a bustling showcase on September 8 at The George Hamilton. Homegrown talent hitting the stage include Tyler Del Pino, Jade Turner, Petric, Desiree Dorion, Don Amero, Past The Perimeter, and Kimberley Dawn. Dawn will also be on cohost duty the event. Amero and David James will take the stage at the CCMA Industry Awards lunch on September 7. Amero will also hit the Diamonds in the Rough show at Honest Lawyer that night, the MCMA showcase the next night, and the Diamonds in the Rough Songwriters Round back at Honest LAwyer on September 9.

James will also play the MDM Recordings Showcase at the CCMA Fan Village on September 8.

Petric will also be in a few spots throughout the weekend, including a Paquin Entertainment show on September 7 and at the CCMA Awards Countdown Concert on September 9 at the CCMA Fan Village

The 2018 CCMA Awards Show will be live from FirstOntario Centre on September 9, hosted by superstar Shania Twain, and will air on CBC. The two-hour celebration features performances and appearances by some of Canada’s brightest country stars and will hand out the hardware in eight award categories.
