The West End Cultural Centre is ready to share some music.

The venerable Winnipeg venue has launched a series of online concerts to be streamed live via Vimeo throughout the summer. Dubbed Bring Your Own Mic for one of the precautions the WECC is taking to ensure the safety of performers and crew, the series will feature a high quality audio and visual experience for music fans.

The lineup is a powerhouse of stellar local talent. Roots trio Red Moon Road is kicking off the series on June 27. Bilingual electro-soul artist Rayannah will continue the series on July 4. Anishinaabe MC/singer/songwriter Leonard Sumner will perform on July 11. Indie singer/songwriter Micah Erenberg will share his songs on July 25. Stay tuned for three more artists to be announced.

“We wanted to have a wide range of musical styles. High quality musicians is one thing our province is known for and this is a perfect opportunity to showcase talent across the entire province, country and even the world,” said WECC artistic coordinator Jorge Requena Ramos in a release.

To support the artists, the online concerts will be ticketed with a small admission of $2 to access the stream.

“We are working to give audiences as close of an in-person show experience as we can,” said Ramos. “We knew that there was a way to do live-streaming right for both artists and audiences. We just had to figure out how.”

Check out all the upcoming shows in our online concert listings and the WECC's site.
