Wall-To-Wall Mural + Culture Festival Connects Music, Art, Dance, Drag, and Mentorship
Music, visual art, dance, drag, and multimedia will collide in Winnipeg this September for a new edition of the Wall-to-Wall Mural + Culture Festival.
On September 16 at the West End Cultural Centre, the festival will share a collaborative music event, The Live Mixtape, which brings together performance and mentorship. Curated by Nestor Wynrush, The Live Mixtape featured a stellar cohort of local artists including Andrew Sannie, Anthony OKS, BBS Steve, Marisolle Negash, The O.B., and more guests.
Wall-to-Wall will also host its mentorship program for emerging artists ages 13-28 interested in the performing arts, music, drag, dance, and DJing. Taking place in September at Studio 393, participants also have the opportunity to perform at Wall-to-Wall's Nuit Blanche event. Music and DJ mentors featured this year include Malcolm-Jay, Osani Balkaran (The O.B.), Sierra Noble, and DJ Tayne. Check out the application form
The spectacularly popular Drag Brunch returns on September 4 at The Tallest Poppy featuring DJ. J. Jackson and performers Prairie Sly, Cake, and special guests but alas, folks have snapped up all the tickets.
The festival culminates with its Nuit Blanche finale on September in partnership with CCFM, sākihiwē festival, Urban Shaman, and Graffiti Art Programming. Stay tuned for more details and find out more about this year's curators at walltowallwpg.com
