Manitoba Acts Head South for SXSW

SXSW March 10-19, Austin TX

Five Manitoba-based bands are headed due south this month for the creative flurry of SXSW, North America’s largest music industry event, to build an international fan base and connect with major industry players.

Pop powerhouse Begonia, country outlier Boy Golden, indie songwriter/producer JayWood, dreamy shoegazers Living Hour, and singer/songwriter William Prince will take the stage at Swan Dive, aka Canada House, on March 15 and 16, performing alongside artists from across the country.

All of this year's showcasing acts have built significant national and international activity recently, including label deals, overseas tours, major media coverage, and more.

SXSW's music festival is a key stop for new, developing, and established artists looking to reach new audiences and make critical business connections. In 2018, 161,000 people attended official music showcases on over 100 different music festival stages featuring 2,000 plus official performers from over 60 countries.
