Artists from Manitoba Earn Canadian Folk Music Award Nominations

Canadian Folk Music Awards

The Canadian Folk Music Awards (CFMAs) have announced the nominees for the 19th edition with five nods for Manitoba-based artists.

William Prince has earned three nominations this year including Solo Artist of the Year, Contemporary Album of the Year for his latest recording Stand in the Joy, Single of the Year for the album's title track.

Jacob Brodovsky and Noah Derksen are both up for English Songwriter of the Year for I Love You and I'm Sorry and Sanctity of Silence, respectively.

Two acts formerly based in Manitoba that picked up nominations this year include Willows, aka Geneviéve Toupin,for Indigenous Songwriter of the Year, and Whitehorse for English Songwriter(s) of the Year and Ensemble of the Year.

The 2024 CFMAs will be held from April 4 – 7 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. For the full list of nominees, visit folkawards.ca.
