Loveville Fest Launches New Afrobeats Festival This Summer

Posted on

Winnipeg will welcome a new festival this summer with the launch of Loveville Fest. Focused on Afrobeats music, the one-day event will launch at Assiniboia Down on June 28 and feature performances from over 50 local artists and DJs.

Manitoba-based artists taking the stage include Adiyo, AJ Lino, Black Lantern, Bolu, Chain Link, DXXN, French RK, Gamabear, Laurel Chanté, and many (many) more. Headliners include DJ Phaphane from South Africa / Paris, Congolese French rapper and musician HIRO, and Afrobeats act Fido.

"At the heart of the Loveville Festival is the spirit of inclusivity, " says Brainleads Entertainment's Abiodun Brainard, the festival's general planner and coordinator. "As people gather to share their stories, art, and food, they create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages dialogue and friendship. The festival is a canvas for creativity, where attendees can participate in workshops and cultural exhibits, making unforgettable memories while breaking down barriers and building bridges between different racial and ethnic groups. Each interaction, each performance, and each shared meal becomes part of a collective memory that strengthens community bonds.

Tickets are on sale now via Eventbrite and vendors have an opportunity to get involved via the festival's website
