Call for Submissions: BPM X CCFM Song Camp & Showcase

We're excited for the second edition of the BPM X CCFM Song Camp & Showcase, a professional development intensive designed to highlight collaboration, exploration, and celebration of Black music makers in Manitoba, including co-writing, mentorship, and a live performance.

The day-long song camp will culminate in a showcase at Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain’s outdoor stage Le Patio 340 on August 22. Artists selected to participate will receive an honorarium. 

BPM X CCFM is a partnership between the Black Professionals in Music (BPM) program at Manitoba Music and Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain (CCFM), and is made possible by the financial support of FACTOR, the Government of Canada and Canada’s private radio broadcasters, the Government of Manitoba, and Manitoba Film and Music.

Artists considered for this opportunity must:

  • Be a  solo artist or front person for a group identifying as Black, African, Afro-Caribbean, or of African descent
  • Be a member of Manitoba Music (or become a member if selected) and a current resident of Manitoba
  • Be available to perform up to 20 minutes of original material or arrangements live on the evening of August 22, 2025
  • Have a strong social media presence and local audience following 
  • Be active as an artist working on or towards professional career activities (e.g., recent or upcoming release - demo/EP/LP/single/video, live shows, tour, festival sets, industry showcases, awards and nominations, media coverage, etc.) 
  • Have a professional promotional photo and short bio
  • Have a website or profile with Manitoba Music and/or social media profile(s)

Submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee of industry professionals based on:

  • Quality of music
  • Quality of promotional materials and online engagement
  • Rationale for the opportunity
  • Recent performance history
