We’re gearing up for the BreakOut West Conference & Festival’s return to Winnipeg this month with a new edition of The Road to BreakOut West! Manitoba Music is hosting an evening of music industry programming focused on supporting artists' international career development goals.

We’ll welcome a few BreakOut West delegates to share their expertise on a panel addressing one of our most requested topics: international networking and team building. This panel is designed to show artists and industry how to create new and strengthen existing industry connections. Delegates will give advice, opinions, and share some of the best practices they use to meet, vet, and build out the international team they need to grow.

José Luis Sedano
Managers Anónimos

José Luis Sedano is the current President of MMF Mexico and a seasoned music business professional with over 20 years of experience across all major record labels in the country. As the head of Managers Anónimos, he leads a team driving one of the most dynamic sectors of the music industry, specializing in the development of emerging talent in Mexico and Latin America since 2007. He manages renowned artists such as Siddhartha, Porter, Hello Seahorse!, among others, and plays a key role in multiple ventures: serving as Marketing Director at LOV/RECS and Discos Anónimos, and as Director of Operations at Anónimos Publishing, in association with Sony Music Publishing México.

Nimkish O'Sullivan-Younging
International Indigenous Music Summit

Nimkish is a Queer Indigenous pop artist and Arts Administrator with 2 albums under her belt, titled “Heartbreak on the Coast” (2019) and “Damage Control” (2021). Nimkish spent many years as one of the Artistic Producers of the music program for the Talking Stick Festival. She has also spent time as a grant coach and outreach coordinator for Creative BC’s Career Development program, and sat on the board for Music BC from 2022-2023. Nimkish is currently the Programming Coordinator on the team at the International Indigenous Music Summit.

Osamudiamen Ekunwe
Senior A&R Manager

Ekunwe O Edward (Vaedar) is currently the Snr. A&R Manager at Mavin Records. He looks after 10 amazing talents (some of which are Ayra Starr, Rema, Johnny Drille, Magixx, Crayon and Elestee) with a passionate team of A&Rs dedicated to building the brands, imagery and repertoire of their artists, further shaping the world’s views of Afrobeats.

With over 9 years of experience developing talents ranging from recording artists to songwriters and producers. He is a knowledgeable music business and product enthusiast.

My journey in the music scene encompasses diverse experiences, from managing power rentals for events to Stage Management and Live Sound Engineering.
Previously Head of Operations for NPG Entertainment - a record label in mainland Lagos, Nigeria - his role focused on developing music talents from the city's rural areas

As a graduate of Electrical Electronics Engineering from Bells University of Technology and Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Nigeria, he is excited about the future of music, its data and technology.

Sarah Sleeth

Sarah Sleeth is the founder of Twin Fang Records. Twin Fang offers years of experience, attention to detail and a boundless respect for music and its makers. Sean Rhorer

As founder and lead Artist Manager at Distance Management, Sean Patrick Rhorer draws upon over 25 years of music industry experience in service of his clients.
