Adult Contemporary Christian Folk Singer/songwriter
Rachel’s music calms and soothes even as it delivers hard truths with rare depth and honesty. Her vulnerability in writing avoids cliché, offering a refreshing and healing perspective on the human experience. Through bold, prayerful songs, she gives voice to the prayers our churches need to sing today.
Rachel always imagined she would write songs but waited until she felt she truly had something to say. With decades of experience leading church communities in worship, personal grief prompted her to share the richness of her faith journey through songwriting. While Rachel loves to write about joy and beauty, she understands the importance of songs that reflect the full spectrum of human experiences and the places where God meets us.
Her self-produced concept album, Make A Way, was released to great response in fall 2024, with concerts in Winnipeg and Toronto. Following the pattern of the Psalms, the album moves from lament—“Lord, are you listening to our crying?”—through petitions for God’s help, “Make a way, and help us to walk in it,” and concludes in deep gratitude and peace.
Rachel’s songs are being sung in churches across Canada and used in spiritual care practices. She continues to write new music and looks forward to upcoming concerts in churches and homes across the country. She also meets with churches to educate and encourage them in worship planning and songwriting for worship.
Rachel lives in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, with her husband, Andrew, who ministers at saint benedict’s table, an Anglican community rich in artistry and creativity. Rachel leads music monthly at their Sunday evening services and makes sure the decaf coffee is freshly ground.
