Creativity is a form of self-expression, so it's no surprise that many life experiences have inspired this young artist to start writing music. Rein is an emerging Filipino-Canadian singer-songwriter who specializes in contemporary, R&B, jazz, and pop music. The singer focuses on creating acoustic songs, showing off his powerful, deep vocals with songs such as Glass, One More Day, and White Flowers.
At four years old, Rein was singing and performing in front of his family and relatives back in the Philippines, but that eventually had to go on Hiatus when he and his family moved to Canada in 2006. When he was 17 years old, Rein learned how to play the piano and wrote his first song as part of a high school project. Ever since he's been fascinated with the construct of songwriting and producing music. The Winnipeg-raised indie singer and songwriter went on to release his first single in July 2020, called "Waiting (Stripped)", and his first EP in January 2021, called "Dreaming".
Rein will be releasing his debut album in June 2021 called "Chase Me". This album serves as backstories of his personal life from heartbreaks to finding a second chance at love. One of the songs, Glass, was entered to be part of CBC Music's Searchlight 2021 and was his first song to be played on the radio.
