The Purple Room

About

The Purple Room is a producer of live performing arts events in Winnipeg. We began in March 2013 as a rehearsal and performance space in the back of Frame Arts Warehouse. While that iteration ended in August 2015, the artist and community-driven ethos of the Purple Room still lives on.

We produce the long-running CaRaVaN Open Mic + Open Stage on Monday nights at the Cube in the summer and at X-Cues Café & Lounge in the colder months. We produce the music stages at the Manitoba Night Market & Festival and the MB Food Truck Battles, as well as other summer events at Assiniboia Downs. We also produce the comedy game shows Pants on Fire and The Great Patio Showdown (a regular part of the Winnipeg Comedy Festival), as well as other one-off music and comedy events.
