Since childhood, Rein grew up with music. whether it’s listening to his father singing to OPM music with a guitar or singing in a group. In 2006, he and his family moved to Winnipeg, Canada where he discovered different genres of music at a young age. Having been inspired by the colourful songs taught by elementary school teachers, he continued to pursue music in middle and high school as part of the concert and chamber choir, and vocal jazz.
Rein did not expect to go into music at first. With a background in digital content creation, videography, and photography, he went on to study Creative Commmunications at Red River College. It wasn’t until the first COVID-19 lockdown that he decided to write and produce his own music. “I’ve always had an interest to create music,” says Rein. “Having seen a couple of my high school friends write and perform songs for projects inspired me to create my own.”
Currently, Rein has written and self-produced a handful of songs like White Flowers, Everything Will Be Okay, and City Lights. Glass, from his debut album “Chase Me”, was entered into the CBC Music Searchlight contest, which lead the song to be played on the radio. With flexibility in Pop, RnB, and Jazz, Rein will continue to surprise listeners with his range and vocal abilities in each genre.
Rein’s latest single, City Lights, is out now!
