In this NOON info session, Matthewson will present an overview of accounting and income tax from the perspective of a typical band and music company - answering some frequently asked questions, discussing Canada Revenue Agency’s criteria for eligible expenses, and identifying areas many musicians miss deductions on their tax returns.

MKM Management Services', Shane Matthewson is a JUNO award winning Chartered Professional Accountant with 10 years of public accounting, income tax, and small business management experience. Through managing his own band KEN mode, he has gained the experience and expertise to assist musicians and record labels navigate the choppy waters of today’s music industry environment, with particular emphasis on budgeting, accounting, finance, and income taxation.
