Dauphin's Countryfest Highlights Local Music
It wouldn't be summer in Manitoba without Dauphin's Countryfest, the longest running country music festival in Canada. The massive festival kicks off is annual festivities June 27 and runs until June 30, hosting over 20 mainstage acts plus two additional stages with bands spanning the genres from country to rock to roots.
Fifteen Manitoba acts hit the Countryfest stages this year, including Don Amero, Ridley Bent, DJ Co-op, Grant Davidson Band, Sweet Alibi, Crooked Brothers, The F-Holes, The JD Edwards Band, and more.
Headliners this year include Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood, Curb Lund, and many more.
Countryfest will also highlight emerging talent, hosting 730 CKDM's 11th annual Battle of the Bands. which strives to support and encourage amateur talent from across the country. This year's bands include Winnipeg's The Proud Sons, Niverville's WhiskeyTalks, Refussion and Act of Divide from Dauphin, and Brandon's Misty Street. Competition takes place on June 2y at the Corral.
