Francophone Hip Hop Rap Singer/songwriter
Alpha Toshineza (Alain Tshinza) is a french Canadian hiphop artist and producer based in Winnipeg.
He is the founder of his label Sonlight Operations, a company specialized in advertising, music and fim production.
He started rapping in the 90s in different rap groups back when he lived in Luxembourg and Belgium.
He then went solo and recorded with different bigger artists such as Oddisee and Kev Brown, and opened up for renowned artists like De La Soul or Baloji .
In 2015, Alpha releases his first Canadian album Jazz Inuit, a boombap album that highlights his faith and tackles social justice in a very poetic way. This first album earned him a nomination at the Western Canadian Music Awards as “Francophone Artist of the Year”. In 2017 he won the SOCAN award for best French song for his single “Dis-moi si tu maimes”.
In 2019, Alpha is nominated for French artist and hiphop artist at the Western Canadian Music Awards. His last album TRIPLE A features collaborations with several producers from Montreal and Europe.
Alpha is coming back with a new studio called B-Atitudes scheduled for mid 2024.
