OP-ED

Alternative Metal Punk Rock

About

OP-ED is a Palestinian-led protest rock band based in Winnipeg. It was founded in late 2023 by Canadian-Palestinian refugee Tarek Abdel Aziz to tell stories of resistance, resilience, and defiance. OP-ED was born out of a need to push back against silence and challenge mainstream narratives through music. The band brings together some of Winnipeg’s most talented musicians: Jay Nowicki (The Perpetrators), Rusty Robot (Imaginary Cities, The Waking Eyes), and Art Antony (Collectors Studio). Together, they create the raw, high-energy sound of OP-ED that blends rock, grunge, and punk with lyrics that cut straight to the heart of struggle and solidarity.

OP-ED is currently working on their debut concept album, In The Storm, a powerful, deeply personal collection of songs that follow a young Palestinian couple caught in the horrors of war. The album is set for release later in 2025 and isn’t just about Palestine. it’s about the universal fight for justice, survival, and truth.
