The Wailin Jennys
"Swing Low Sail High"

From the album Bright Morning Stars

Featured track, available from February 17 to February 24

Juno-winning trio The Wailin' Jennys found a new home at True North Records for their highly-anticipated new album, Bright Morning Stars. Released on February 8 in Canada, UK, Europe, and Australia on the Canadian label, as well as the U.S. on Red House Records, the album debuted at #1 on Billboard's Bluegrass Albums chart and #10 on its Folk Albums chart in the U.S. Produced by Mark Howard and longtime Jennys collaborator David Travers-Smith, Bright Morning Stars follows up 2009's Live at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, which landed the band a Western Canadian Music Award nod, and their previous studio effort, the Juno-nominated Firecracker, which spent an impressive 63 weeks inside Billboard’s Top 20 Bluegrass Albums chart. With the release of Bright Morning Stars, the band has returned to the road this month, with over 25 shows across the U.S. this winter and spring, including a stop at the popular Merlfest in North Carolina.

Beyond the new release and tours, the trio will also be heard in the upcoming feature film, The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mom. Parton herself sent praise in a recent letter to the filmmakers for The Jennys' signature harmonies on their cover of her song, "Light of a Clear Blue Morning," which appears on a soundtrack that also includes the likes of Nelly Furtado and Martha Wainwright. The soundtrack will be released on February 22.
