Scott Nolan
"Trial Separation"

From the album Montgomery Eldorado

Featured track, available from July 7 to July 14

The weather is hot, the dragonflies are out, and the sale of tarps at Canada Tire has skyrocketed. Yup, it's time for the Winnipeg Folk Festival. Once again this year, there is a lot of great homegrown talent gracing the workshops and Main Stage, including Scott Nolan, Oh My Darling, Imaginary Cities, Fred Penner, The Crooked Brothers, Alphabet Soup, DJ Hunnicutt, and Mama Cutsworth. Many of this year's locals will play a Manitoba-centric workshop on July 10, dubbed "So Long Bannatyne, Hello Birds Hill Park".

To celebrate, we've got some Scott Nolan for you as the featured download this week. The acclaimed singer/songwriter released his latest album, Montgomery Eldorado, on Winnipeg label Transistor 66 this spring as well as a video for "Trial Separation", which just happens to be this week's free song. Post-Folk Fest, Nolan hits the road with Joanna Miller and Chris Carmichael for a tour of Ontario and Quebec next month.

Grab your sunscreen and head out to Folk Fest and be sure to check out some great Manitoba performers while you're there!

As an added Folk Fest bonus, we're also keeping Oh My Darling's free download "Roustabout" going for a limited time. Click here to download!
