Don Amero
"What Do You Wanna Do"

From the album Heart On My Sleeve

Featured track, available from January 10 to January 18

Don Amero is kicking off the new year in New York City, but it's not all fun and games... the acclaimed singer/songwriter is one of three Aboriginal recording artists from Canada participating in the Native America North showcase at the APAP|NYC 2013 conference. The event features roots, folk, and pop interpretations of Anishinabe, Mohawk, Inuit, and Métis culture at the National Museum of the American Indian on January 12.

Amero is coming off a busy 2012, after releasing his fourth album -- the self-produced Heart On My Sleeve, which debuted in an intimate concert streaming on APTN.ca. He also picked up the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award for Aboriginal Male Entertainer of the Year in November, adding to a trophy shelf that already includes five other awards, including a Western Canadian Music Award and Canadian Folk Music Award. If you just happen to be in New York, don't miss Amero live. If not, you'll just have to make do with this week's feature song, "What Do You Wanna Do", which is off Amero's latest album (you can also is a video of live performance of the song below).
