Real Love Winnipeg (RLW) offers up a morsel of summer with Beach Station Blues II this month. In its second compilation project, the emerging local label -- lead by Gilad Carroll, Adam Soloway and Josh Winestock -- brought together 13 up-and-coming Manitoba bands to record in a cottage at Winnipeg Beach. The diverse lineup includes the likes of indie outfits Animal Teeth, Young Folk, Yes We Mystic, Naysa, From Giants, and Kieran West & His Buffalo Band. RLW will capture a bit of the cabin camaraderie at the September 28 CD release party at the Windsor Hotel with performances by contributors Naysa, Surprise Party, Slow Spirit, and Claire Bones. We've got a little taste of Beach Station Blues II with this week's featured song, "Altona Girl", by Kieran West & His Buffalo Band. Look for the band release its debut EP, Riverwood Ave, in late 2013 and to be the Rose 'N Bee Pub's house band for No Cover Sundays throughout December.
