"So Over You"
From the album IsKwé
Featured track, available from August 21 to August 29
The sixth annual Aboriginal Music Week kicked off its five-day run in Winnipeg on August 20, bringing with it some stellar live music. This year's fest will feature a number of free and ticketed shows as well as community celebrations, workshops, film events, industry networking, and more. AMW will play host to well-known touring acts and plenty of acclaimed homegrown talent, including Winnipeg-raised artist Iskwé. The R&B trip hop singer, who has earned a 2014 Western Canadian Music Award nod for Electronic/Dance Recording of the Year for her self-titled debut, will hit the stage at The Turtle Island Block Party, a big community celebration at the Turtle Island Neighbourhood Centre at 11:30am on Thursday, August 21, alongside JUNO winners George Leach and Eagle & Hawk, and fiddler Melissa St. Goddard. Look for her to be back in her hometown to play the BreakOut West festival in Winnipeg, October 3-4 and stay tuned for a new album coming soon. In the meantime, download Iskwé's song "So Over You" and give it a spin while you read her big Winnipeg Free Press profile, and do not miss her live on stage!
