High Five Drive
From the album Fullblast
Featured track, available from September 17 to September 24
Fifteen bands will take over The Plaza skatepark at The Forks on Saturday, September 19 for Skate4Cancer. There will be plenty of homegrown talent on the stage this year for the free all-ages event, including Comeback Kid, High Five Drive, The Lytics, The Ripperz, The Afterbeat, Fame, Asado, The City Champs, Common Lives, Hope Atlantic, Talk City, The Cheap Shot Artists, and Crisis Jane. If you're there to skate, there'll be plenty for you to do and plenty of prizes to win. As well, the day will feature the Art for the Cure, with local artists creating original one-of-a-kind works on blank skateboards for auctioned to benefit cancer research.
You can catch a preview of the fun by downloading High Five Drive's "Vengeance Theme" from The Loudspeaker this week. The track comes courtesy of the alt.punk quartet's latest release, Fullblast.
Music starts at noon, skate contest starts at about 2pm.
