Slow Leaves

From the album Beauty Is So Common

Featured track, available from January 29 to February 6

The Big Fun Festival has launched its fourth edition and it's putting a thwack of Canadian indie acts on stages throughout Winnipeg for five days of live music discovery. With over 40 bands on a dozen bills, there's a lot of to see and hear. Manitoba Music is getting in on the Big Fun fun this year with a showcase of locals at The Good Will on January 31, featuring sets by Yes We Mystic, Rayannah, and Slow Leaves (Mise en Scene and The Moas play late night sets). The event puts the bands in front of music fans as well as industry delegates in town for the second annual January Music Meeting. We've got Slow Leaves' tune "Rearview" off his acclaimed album, Beauty is so Common, for you as this week's featured download. The indie singer/songwriter has been generating significant buzz, including raves and nods from the likes of PopMatters, Exclaim!, Winnipeg Free Press, and more. After the Manitoba Music showcase, you can catch Slow Leaves supporting Wilderness of Manitoba at The Park Theatre on February 8, touring Alberta in March, and heading across Western Canada in April with Leaf Rapids (in what is surely one of the best-named double bills). Download "Rearview", head to The Good Will to see Slow Leaves live, and check out the rest of Big Fun in Manitoba Live and our online listings!
