The 2015 edition of Jazz Winnipeg's popular Nu Sound Series returns this month with a special concert featuring acclaimed guitarist and composer Keith Price. Price will debut The Live Remix Show on March 15 at The Park Theatre. A departure from what audiences may have seen from Price before, the project features him performing with a jazz trio and two DJs live on stage. His music will be recorded live and sampled by the DJs, who would then add those layers of sound back into the mix, influencing what the musicians play next, along with sound clips of speech and sound to add the the atmosphere of the moment. The Live Remix Show is the latest in the series, now in its ninth year, focused on showcasing Manitoba musicians and to give them an avenue to explore new ideas. Since the show is live, we can't really give you a preview, but we do have another special music morsel for you this week... Price's tune "Kejick". Recorded at UMFM Studios, the song was released on UMFM's Transmission album and will appear on Price's Live at UMFM EP in May. Also in the works for 2015 is a second live EP, a Western Canadian tour in May, and an Eastern Canadian tour in October.
