Paris To Kyiv to remix. The acclaimed music project from singer Alexis Kochan has teamed up with local label Balanced Records for Fragmenti Remixes, which interweaves Paris To Kyiv’s fourth recording of Ukrainian folk and contemporary collaborations with new sounds and electronic, hip hop, house, and experimental influences. The new release features a diverse group of contributors, including Ottawa-based JUNO nominee Rise Ashen, soundscape artist Ken Gregory, Brooklyn hip hop emcee/producer J57, Greek artist and DJ Cayetano, Swedish sound designer Anders Peterson, Balanced Records’ co-founder Kasm, and more. Paris To Kyiv and Balanced will celebrate the release with a series of unique events over the next few months featuring interpretations from other multidisciplinary artists. The celebration kicks off on May 14 with a launch party at Actual Gallery the Exchange District, including the screening of two short films by local filmmaker Danishka Esterhazy featuring Paris To Kyiv’s music.
