Joey Landreth
"Time Served"

From the album Whiskey

Featured track, available from July 6 to July 14

The sun is out, the mics are checked, and the music is ready at Birds Hill Park. The Winnipeg Folk Festival kicks off four nights and three days of music in the great outdoors on July 6 and there are plenty of opportunities to catch homegrown talent on stages throughout the event. Joey Landreth is one of the local acts performing at this year's fest, including a coveted Main Stage spot on Sunday, the Manitoba artists workshop, and more. Landreth has previously played Folk Fest with his JUNO-winning band The Bros. Landreth, but this is his first solo appearance and the venerable event. He's definitely no stranger to Folk Fest, as he's been attending since childhood and volunteered with his father and bandmate brother as stage hands on Main Stage. Next up, he'll head across the pond this month for tour dates in the UK and hit select Canadian festivals throughout the summer. Hometown audiences can catch him with The Bros. Landreth at the Canada Games Opening Ceremonies on July 28. The Bros. will hit the road together in the fall along with more solo Landreth dates. For you this week, we've got Landreth's song “Time Served” from his debut album, Whiskey. Recorded at Stereobus Recording with Paul Yee and produced by Murray Pulver, Whiskey, was released in January 2017 via Cadence Music. Get it and get out to Folk Fest to catch Joey Landreth live on stage.
