Past song of the week / February 2018

The 1221

From the album Kiss

Featured track, available from February 8 to February 15

The Uniter, Winnipeg's weekly urban journal, is set to celebrate some of the city's best new bands this month. The fifth annual Uniter Fiver project takes over The Good Will on February 15 to shine a spotlight on five new bands, with the winner chose by the voting public. The music newcomers hitting the stage this year include The 1221, Taylor Janzen, Dizzy Mystics, Giant Skellies, and Two Crows For Comfort. To help get you in the Fiver mood, we've got The 1221's tune "Kiss" for you this week. The trio has been busy in the last year, touring Japan and the Philippines, hitting Indie Week Toronto, and opening for Arnel Pineda (Journey's current front man) at Club Regent Event Centre. Next up, audiences can catch them supporting Six Outta Ten's album release show at The Handsome Daughter on March 10. Pick up the latest issue of The Uniter to read more about the bands or check out the stories online, and don't miss the Uniter Fiver live. You might just find your new favourite band.
