Past song of the week / July 2019

Kira Gregory

From the album February

Featured track, available from July 4 to July 12

Kira Gregory is ready for the summer. The indie folk/pop singer/songwriter celebrated the launch of her EP, February, in June. She'll take the Shady Grove stage at the Winnipeg Folk Festival on July 12 (4:45PM) with the Stingray Young Performers Program. YPP, which offers mentorship and workshopping opportunities with festival performers in addition to the day-long festival performance, features over 20 young artists from across Canada, including plenty of locals like Cole Shway, Erika Fowler, Heidi Wright, Jamboree, Sophie Stevens, Tuva Bergstrom, Victoria Turko, and more. Next up, she'll head to the Lake of The Woods Brewery on July 26 for a show with Lindsay Thomson. Stay tuned for new music because she'll also hit Nomad Recording Studios this month to record two new songs with her band, which includes YPPer Fowler plus Julian Brown and Lucas Kost. We've got her tune "Better" for you as this week's feature. Get it, don't miss some stellar emerging talent at Folk Fest next week, and check out all of Kira Gregory's EP.
