The Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival may not be the first place you think to go to catch local indie jazz/rock outfit Flying Fox and the Hunter Gatherers, but that's exactly where the band is right now with its original rock opera, The Wild Things. Inspired by Maurice Sendak's classic children's book, Where the Wild Things Are, the musical follows Max across the ocean to the sinister Monster Island. The production comes complete with dynamic set pieces, ghoulish costumes, a small orchestra, and the band's unique musical sensibilities.
