"Voi Che Sapete"
From the album Kayas
Featured track, available from October 21 to October 28
Classically-trained vocalist Rhonda Head is ready to launch her first album this month. The mezzo-soprano from Opaskwayak Cree Nation releases Kayas at the Pyramid Cabaret on October 28. Having studied with private vocal teachers from Toronto, Denver, The Pas, and Winnipeg, Head has sung with the Manitoba Opera Chorus in the Belle Voci and Stories That Sing concerts, and in the Saskatoon production of Carmina Burana. Her seven-track album features the likes of Puccini, Lloyd Webber, and a Cree translation of "Amazing Grace." We have Head's performance of Mozart's "Voi Che Sapate" as the featured download in The Loudspeaker this week, available until October 28.
