About

Bastid’s BBQ is a multi-city tour that brings communities together with its artists and artisans for live performances, great food and amazing music. In its 13th year, DJ and producer Skratch Bastid continues to bring his traveling day party all across North America.

Manitoba Music is welcoming Skratch Bastid back to Winnipeg for a discussion and workshop for working DJs and event producers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Joined by manager Jon Schouten, Skratch Bastid will share a behind-the-scenes look at  the creation and post-pandemic relaunch of the “Bastid’s BBQ” event series plus practical knowledge about event branding, advancing event production in other cities remotely, and effectively advertising on socials.

In the performance workshop segment Skratch Bastid will share cheat codes for working DJs, with topics including crate organization, new DJ software plug-ins, and developing rehearsed routines that will elevate and distinguish a DJ set. Skratch will be joined by beat maker and finger drumming phenom Creeasian, who will share from his experience as a performer, first building his career as a dancer before transitioning into the world of live beat making and finger drumming.

Make sure to arrive early and get a chance to hang out and spend some time on the open decks with Skratch Bastid, DJ Hunnicutt, and Creeasian.

This event will be moderated by DJ Hunnicutt (Tyler Sneesby), Kilusan (Maribeth Tabanera), and Tony4QR (Anthony Carvalho).

This is a free event with limited capacity, so please RSVP to save your spot.
