Ciaran Scanlon of Six Shooter Records will explore practical approaches to release timelines, audience-building, and promotional planning, with a focus on strategies artists can apply immediately to maximize impact around new music.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Ciaran (pronounced like “Kieran”) is a Music Industry professional, from Winnipeg MB, currently based in Toronto, ON. He is the Marketing Manager at Six Shooter Records, overseeing all digital label initiatives including strategy, DSP upkeep, playlist pitching, tracking and submitting marketing drivers, researching and implementing industry trends, managing internal and external communication, handling and creating marketing assets, and managing label and management clients’ social media pages.

Prior to Six Shooter Records, he had been the Marketing Manager at Signal Noise Music, a digital ad agency in the music industry, working with both indie artists releasing their first single to major labels and charting artists; management & label teams; and live promoters. Not only did he create impactful digital ad campaigns, but also developed a comprehensive reporting system unmatched by competitor companies at the time. Ciaran has participated in a variety of provincial music organizations' speaking events, and has been an official speaker at both BreakOut West and SXSW.

Ciaran approaches all his work in the industry with a creative and analytical approach, and feels that the two are symbiotic in developing an artist’s career. The time to have your music heard and appreciated has never been easier, it’s just about understanding and influencing the tools at your disposal.
