Manitoba Chamber Orchestra
From the album Mirage? Concertos for Percussion
Featured track, available from October 19 to October 27
The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra is gearing up for the release of an exciting new project. The JUNO-nominated orchestra is collaborating with GRAMMY-winner and percussionist extraordinaire Dame Evelyn Glennie for Mirage? Concertos for Percussion, which features two classical masterworks (Vivaldi’s Piccolo Concerto in C Major and Corelli’s Sonata in D Minor) and two pieces by leading Canadian composers (Michael Oesterle’s Kaluza Klein and Christos Hatzis’ Mirage?). The new recording, which follows up the MCO's acclaimed 2013 release with Isabel Bayrakdarian, comes during the orchestra's 45th anniversary season, which runs through to May 2018. The MCO will celebrate the milestone with a double anniversary concert on November 7 at Westminster United Church. The album will be released before Christmas 2017 through iTunes, the MCO’s website, and selected CD vendors. Meanwhile, we have a very special exclusive first listen with the track "Mirage?", written by Hatzis and performed by Dame Evelyn Glennie and the MCO. Get it, don't miss the MCO's 45th anniversary season live, and stay tuned for more from Mirage?.
